personal headcanon alert:
When Alistair and Nell are married she was expecting a simple gold band. When Alistair slips the ring on her finger she realizes it’s something different but it’s not until later, when the ceremony is over and they leave the Chantry to return to the palace for the celebrations that she’s able to get a good look at it.
A rose, made of silverite, and the ring itself of gold, shaped like the stem, complete with a small bud, and even a thorn.
She can’t help smiling and when she looks up Alistair is smiling back at her. ”I saw it and I thought of you. I wanted you to know what a rare and wonderful thing you are to have found.” He leans forwards and kisses her to the delight of the crowds that line the way,
She has to blink back tears as he pulls away. She remembers the first time he said those words to her she’d had to do the same. ”So, are we married now?” She asks, just as she had all those months ago when he gave her that first rose.
"Yes," He says with a broad smile. "You’ve finally managed to land me, woman." He lifts her hand to his lips.
"Good." She says leaning over to kiss him again. "Time for the steamy bits then."
